Self Help Without Help
Self Help in and of itself is a rather broad definition. Look in the mirror. When you learn how to look past the front that is staring back at you, you will get a glimpse at the real you. Somewhere deep inside yourself is the answer to each and every one of your problems in life. It does not matter where you are trying to make improvements. That person who resides deep within you likely already has all of the answers that you need to get the help you need and want.
It was once said that "God" (Whether in a spiritual or metaphysical sense based on your personal beliefs) feeds the birds but does not put the seed in the nests for them. An active effort must be made on your part if you want to improve your life. The different methods for accomplishing this can include such concepts as positive affirmation, positive thinking, dream books, treasure chests or any other base concept for reminding yourself not only why you are working to improve yourself but the things you wish to gain by improving your life. However, as reality sets in, you will ultimately discover that none of it will work unless you make an active effort to make it happen.
Only when you discover how to find your true inner self, will you be able to beginB16 that journey that leads to your true happiness. That person who exists so subtly inside of you, whether you call it your id, your sub-conscious, or just the inner you; rest assured that it already knows everything about you both good and bad. First you must learn how to get in touch with your inner self. Then you must initiate the first conversation. It will not be easy at first and you may find that occasionally you do not like what it tells you but that is all part of the learning and growing process.
It is certainly helpful when you have the proper guidance and assistance. Having someone else to discuss things is certainly a preferable means of communication and often more satisfying on a personal and emotional level. It is often easier for people to discuss their thoughts with other people than it is to take the time and effort to reflect on them personally. It is also very beneficial when you are capable of getting someone else to share your thoughts and ideas and help you to sort them out in your own mind and heart. Still, the only way you will find the ultimate answer is to learn to reason with yourself on a very personal level that nobody else will ever be able to converse with as well as you can. You must be in touch with your true inner-self if you want to find the ultimate answer for helping yourself.
